The transformation of Czechoslovak regional daily press: The case of Jihočeská pravda journal

This bachelor thesis will be focused on the process of transformation in Czechoslovakia at the beginning of the 90's of the 20th century. Specifically the author will researchs the process of transformation of regional daily press. The press (as well as another mass media) changed fundamentally in consequence of the change of political system in the late nineties. While during the most of the second half of the 20th century the regional press had been the institutions owned and controlled from the state, during the nineties passed to private property. This transformation will be described on the example of Southbohemian daily press - "Jihočeská pravda". At first the author dedicates to the form and characteristic of the newspaper before the year 1989 (more precisely between 1985-1989), including the brief view on the newspaper at the age of censorship and the supervision of their publisher - The Communist Party of Czechoslovakia. Then, this work describes the way of imaging of "the Velvet Revolution" in the newspaper and the first steps of the change of the publisher (November-December 1989). Finally the work reconstructs the way of daily press to private property, including the phenomenon of foreign owners of Czechoslovakian regional press. Bachelor thesis "Transformation of the regional press in the early 90's of the 20th century - region Ceskobudejovicko (South Bohemia)" presents the situation of regional and local press in the region Ceské Budejovice (South Bohemia) in the early 90's of the 20th century. The change (of the content, owner, advertisment etc.) of the regional and local press was observed. The work is divided into the chapters by the type of the press and its target group. Also Syndicate of Southbohemian journalists and its foundation was discribed. The regional and local press is presented in the context of the history and situation of the region.

Czech postmodern architecture of banking houses and savings after 1989 until the end of the 20.century

This study deals with teh architecture of banks and savings banks in the nineties of the twentieth century in the Czech Republic as a certain phenomenon associated with cultural change and social situation in the Czech architectural scene since 1989. The need for new bank buildings brought into our urban and small-town environment specific architectural forms associated with the influence of lingering postmodernism. The first part attempts to characterize the general change on the Czech architectural scene in the nineties and to elucidate these stylish yet unidentified, often individually artistically conceived structure of bank buildings as a part of it. At the same time take into account the question of to what extent we can speak about postmodern architecture in the Czech culture environment and points out the ethical problem related to this architecture style. The second part tries to characterize the general architecture and typologically distinguish of banks and savings banks in the accompanying catalog. Finally, the work attempts to explain why the phenomenon of architecture of banks and savings is associated with the ethical problem, which reffers to such buildings as the representative of architectural bad taste.
